    Ok resurrecting an old post but here's another version of my port city map. I've got rid of the embossing and done some minor tinkering.

    I tried playing with the label stroke colours - the background yellow makes them pop out far too much, so it's a pale grey. I'm content with the effect as it is.

    That's pretty awesome, and I was definitely pegging it as Victorian era before I went and read the opening post.
