    Meshon - you could pull it into PS and use the clone tool and just add some edges to it.
    add a bit to canvas, fill with white [on a layer below], then use the clone stamp tool [set to 60% opacity/50% flow] on the map layer and just add some of the paper texture to blend it to the white below.
    I've done that before with one or two pieces. It will give you the edge space you want.

    Good advice J.Edward. I started in with the clone tool but I was trying to fill too much. I really only need to add 30 pixels or so across the top. I was also trying to do it at full opacity, so I will give it a try with your settings. Thanks!

    Also I was paying by the minute for the scanner and I probably rushed a bit.
