    Thanks, Ilanthar

Another update. I've created a couple of pics around the edges and added the title box. I drew the standing stones myself but the castle was some Gimp trickery from a photograph.

Still have to do the little corner boxes, and I'm going to put a scale in the bottom left hand corner, but this is where I'm at for now. I hope it doesn't look like there's too much space now? Only empty-ish bit is the sea to the left but I might add a fish or something. I also realised that I forgot to label the seas.

    That's looking quite fine ChickPea.
The added images look good. I like the red text too.
To fill the left side, do the text on a curve for the sea name and make it slightly large but faint.
That could add some fill over there.

    Very nice pictures!
I like very much the "braided" wind rose, too.

Beautiful Illustrations, would love to see the fish in the sea to match the other illustrations. Nice job!

Those illustrations look spectacular, ChickPea. I'd suggest maybe swapping them over, though, so they're closer to their locations on the map (i.e. the castle is of Lochranza, which is in the north closer to where you've put the standing stones, while Machrie is on the west coast closer to the illustration of the castle). I feel like that would be easier and more logical for the eye to follow.

I agree it'd be neat to see some fishies.

All around great job on this ChickPea. As others have already mentioned the illustrations really give it character. I also really like that compass rose. Fantastic work.

    Cheers,

Thanks for the really encouraging comments, everyone. I appreciate it.

I've added some labels in the sea which help to take care of empty space. I've also added some little graphics in the corners. I made a couple of other minor tweaks that I can't remember. I think I'm pretty much done unless anyone has suggestions or I spot any little booboos.

This is really spectacular. I think my favorite part is the title box; that subtle profile of the island looks great. I do agree with soggymuse about switching the locations of the two illustrations to put them closer to their positions on the map.

And I love that sea lion.
