Has anyone managed to create decent maps on inkscape? Thinking about switching from GIMP to vector graphics

If you have the money, get Corel Painter. I used it for a little bit and it was fantastic. It's real-time brush properties effects (using a watercolor brush, for example, is just like how you'd expect watercolor to work on a real canvas in person) are excellent, and make it worth the price alone IMHO.

MyPaint is a decent free alternative, if in case you decide to buy Photoshop instead but don't have enough money for Painter and want a semi-Painter experience.
