I was experimenting with a few techniques for coming up with seamless textures today, and I came up with this one. I know the dimensions are a little weird; I used a screenshot of Google Earth; not the most sophisticated technique, but it works. I hope this comes in handy.

The location I used was a spot in Lincolnshire, England.

Cool Idea. I've often thought of how I could convert a google satellite image into a background, but the resolution / image never seemed right. You did a good job with this one.

I saw that one, but I had some trouble making it work well for this image. I opted to use this tutorial's technique instead:

Thanks for making that tutorial, though; I'll try it again the next time I have a go at making a seamless texture.

My method is a bit quick and dirty. To do the job properly, where I have said cut out that oak leaf shape with some feathering on the edges of the selection, in this case to do it properly you need to cut around field lines and try to match it in. You have done a really good job with this texture however you did it - ill have a look at the YT clip in a mo... Whatever you do to a texture like this tho after a couple of tiles the pattern will repeat a lot and its always going to be hard to make it invisible.

EDIT: After YT: Its basically the same method only the YT user paints in around the blocks to make the seam cleaner. Thats exactly what needs to be done for these fields.
