    Map Sven's Retreat

One more map inspired by Swedish nature.

This time I thought of adding a background story for the map.
You can read the story at my blog.

Please feel free to share your comments an thoughts about it.

The map is done with Copic multiliner and sepia markers on paper. Colour tint was added in Photoshop.

Looks awesome, I love the simple style of it.

Uuuh! very nice "doodle" style!! rep for you!
You could also add a title, or a border

Very pretty indeed! I love the muted colour palette.

    Another splendid map Filippo
I like most all of it. Color is very nice.
Main issue is the compass rose feels intrusive in that location [though I know it can't be changed at this point].
Some text would make it more map than illustration - a complaint that I used to get a lot myself
Is that a signature to the lower left of the compass? in the water?
That said, very nice work again. Always happy to see your new stuff.

I wanted to try something different from the usual 'bottom corner', but I guess it ends up being distracting on such a small scale map.

I gave it a lot of thought before deciding to not include any label at all.
Since I wrote a little story to go with it, I thought it might be more interesting to let the reader/viewer find her way through the map.
    Does that make any sense?

    Yes it's a signature.

I get that. No biggie. It does feel a bit crammed in there but it doesn't ruin the map.

That's understandable as well. Just be prepared for that complaint.
Many have said that they don't feel like it's a map if it has no text/info.
But i can definitely sympathize with your reasoning.

I like the rough ink line work. I really like colors you've used as well. Looks great!
