Default Mar / Apr 2016 Lite Challenge: You gotta be yolking

So when I saw this challenge I just knew I had to post this even though it isnt really the mapping challenge objective.

It is an old family tradition of mine to make Easter eggs. And we use an old technique that is popular mostly in Slavic countries. Using a vintage ink pen and molten bee wax a pattern is drawn on boiled eggs. Afterwards they are colored but the drawn pattern, because of the wax, preserves itself in the original eggshell color. The drawn motives are often circular in shape and I have always made some compass-like. So when this challenge came up..and in this month..I just knew I had to post one of my eggs Hope some of you will like it

Neat! Never seen something like that, I always paint faces on mine Very nice design, looks authentically historical even though I can't place it in a particular time or culture.

Thanks guys! Means a lot to hear that since it is something dear to me (my grand grandma did it, my grandpa, my mom, me...). I think this is like the only 'old' tradition I really like and definitely wont ever break

@Lingon Thanks, just came to my head, probably inspired by many compasses I have seen through time.

It's great that it has that family tradition backstory to it also.
