    Question Dynamic Lighting Question

    Hello, hello!

This might be a dumb question and I tried to look around for a post already about this but to no avail, here we are. Is there a way to do dynamic lighting in Photoshop (CS6) or some other adobe program?
What I am wanting exactly is a way to create an invisible wall, so to say.*On my way home I realized the wall does not need to be invisable, could even just be an object or part of a layer* So, if I use the spotlight effect for example it would cast a shadow where this "wall" is. I hope this makes sense. It all really stems
from how much I despise hand drawing circles, spheres... etc. and correctly shading them.

    Thanks ahead of time!

Hmmm, a bit of a strange question. I'm not sure I understand you completely... I don't have any experience with drawing invisible walls..

It might not need to be completely invisible to get the feeling it's invisible, such as having dotted lines and partly transparent..

By the way, is this map top down or isometric? I'm not sure if it would work, but if you drew the wall then put the Fill down to 0% and did spotlight or drop shadow or something.. I'm not sure.

could you post some examples of what you are looking to try to replicate

there are many plugins to add a "spot light " effect

but a 2d tool is not the best for a 3d effect

if you REALLY must stay with Adobe

buy Aftereffects , but it is rather pricey

Natron is a opensource tool that is like Adobe After Effects

    or
do a render in Maya , 3D Max , or renderman
    or the Opensource Blender

    I FOUND IT!

Well this is the closest thing to what i was imagining in my head.
    Tutorial I found.

Sorry for the lack of a good explanation. I think Johnvanvliet was right in the fact that what I originally posted was out of Adobe's capabilities. I really appreciate both of you for your assistance!

    Happy Mapping!
