Interesting...I assume you do have snap to grid turned on?
I've never seen that sort of thing happen..I just ran a similar test and sure enough mine came out solid as expected, not like yours...

Wow that is strange. Yeah , I have snap to grid with a pretty coarse grid, and the path to poly with the straight lines works fine.
I can only select the curved lines if I use 'path to poly' I cannot even select a curved line if I use 'combine'.
I feel like I am missing something fundemental.

\"Nonsense, your only saying that because no-one ever has!\"
oh wait...mine worked when I used multipoly...I didn't fully ready that you were using path to poly...try doing the same thing but use multipoly and see if that helps.

Yep that was it.
Just in case anyone cares. Here are the steps.
1. Draw outline of shape with Lines, Paths and Smooth Paths.
2. MPOLY2 is the command, select all objects making shape and 'Do It'
Thanks Everyone for the help. I'll try and get the above map up into WIP this weekend.

Okay, another newbie, but where does one find the "path to poly" command?
There's a tutorial on the process here.
Welcome to the boards,

Thanks and thanks.
