Thanks for the suggestion. I have been fighting with the coast lines lately, enough to almost hate the word water hahaha! But I think you are right there. The dots could be replaced. I tryed today to have like a thick black coastline delimitation, but it took aways my tiny islands on one of my maps.

After a month of never ending frustration I have finally discovered THE coastline style for my maps! Here is an image of a map with the coastline.

OKay Maybe I should explain why I chose such a simple and plain way of seperating the sea and the land.
1-Was never satisfied with the other styles I tryed (I never had good result with a pen...)
2-My maps are more precise than esthetic, so the wavy stuffs often ended up erasing the small islands (or really tiny tiny islands)
3-Having a black and white colouring, I believe this suits it well.

Hmmm.. another awesome map, but honestly that coastline style isn't my favorite. Sorry It may be a matter of opinion but I think the thick solid line kills all the details of the coastline. The thick line looks too much like the actual coastline and it's hard to tell islands apart from mainland. Maybe having the coastline thicker at the waveline thinner might help.

    Your forests are mesmerizing.

I'll give you some rep, these maps deserve it.

Well I may add something afterwards. Dunno, like some waves or something. Don't worry, I do like other coastlines as well but I think here the important part is to seperate more than being beautiful.
Wait! Unless I have a gray pen, I could fill the shore! How about it? It would make the thick line useful but not a confusion between what is the coast and what is the seperation.
