    Here is the final one.
I rearrange the banner and the legend, add a second sea "monster", move the scale under the compass.
But most important, I add some colors to spot the different areas a bit more, add some snow up north and correct the overlapping trees.

Thanks for all the critics and thanks to all of those who wrote the very useful tutorials that help me a lot!

Good job! And this is two days after the challenge started?.. Excellent.

How did you do all the lines coming out of the compass rose? I've never done them before and honestly I don't know how they're generally done. Of course you may not be the best to as as you are an amateur like me, but I'd just thought I'd ask.

    Nice choice of illustrations too!

    Hi Josiah,
    Thanks.
For the lines, I drew it on photoshop. First the lines then the circles.

Ooh, this is really good. There are many things I enjoy about this map. The way in which you've depicted the snow in the north of the map is quite good.
I might add some texture to the backs of the legend and the banner or find some other way to make them look more integrated with the map.
The best maps are the ones we like the most after looking at the longest.

I agree foremost. I'll look for a way to blend both banner and legend backgrounds.
    Thanks.

Just a few changes, to blend the banner and the legend with the rest of the map.
I think I'm done but who knows...

    Last changes:
I blend the white areas of the border, the compass and the scale and change the legend and banner outlines.
I also change the cave entrance.
I tried to add roads but the result wasn't as good as expected
