Post My first Map and post

    Hey so..

this is my map for a d&d 5e campaign that im working on with some friends, and i think its finished. It turned out okay, but id appreciate any suggestions for improvements. The map took me way too long because of its detail and lore depth, so some of the design aspects i think aren't fluid enough. After the map was nearing completion i searched around a bit and was redirected here by wasd20, and since then this site has really helped me with fine tuning some features of the map. Ideally id like it to look a little less piratey but oh well i am but a noob in map making. I found it difficult too add a border i felt was right so unfortunately i was stuck with just expanding the canvas and paper texture.

    Here is the map:

    Very nice work!

You'd probably get more response if you upload your map here at the Guild, rather than linking to a separate site. You can attach images to a comment by clicking the 'Go Advanced' button under the comment box, then scroll down to where it says 'Manage Attachments'. You'll be able to upload pics there.

Very nice. It's an extremely detailed map. Well done.

It looks nice but you are using existing brushes that were uploaded to deviant art, try making something fully by yourself, i think you will get more character to your map that way. aside from that the layout looks lovely and some nice original ways

Hm. Nice start but the shadowing around the coast makes the continents look like they're levitating above the terrain. And I assume this is meant to be in bigger size, but the smaller labels are impossible to read, and it's difficult to see any level of detail. That white area to the northeast, is that an ice sheet? It's unexplained so looks a little odd. And because your mountains and forests extend right to the sea with no boundary area, the whole landmasses look a bit like they're cut out with a cookie cutter.
