Storybook style maps of my lake and trails as a gift for my father

Summary: I’m looking for someone to draw storybook style maps of a lake and property in northern Wisconsin by Christmas, 2016. I am specifically looking for hand drawn, and not computer generated. Subject

- I am searching for an artist/cartographer to create 2 story book maps as a gift for my father. 1 map is of our lake in northern Wisconsin, and 1 map is of trails on our property. I envision that these maps will be geographically accurate (within reason), and have labels for significant locations and features
- I want 2 copies of each map. If there is a way to make an original and a copy which convincingly resembles the original, that is fine

- I’m guessing the scale is roughly 1 inch = .1 miles for the map of the lake, and 1 inch = .025 miles for the map of the land

Style

- Black and white or color, I'm open to either
- I want to capture a storybook, whimsical style. They shouldn’t be over cartoony, but something you may see at the beginning of a novel to show the lay of the land
- We would like to add little motifs like sign posts or animals like how monsters are drawn in the oceans on world maps
- I prefer these to be hand drawn on parchment style/colored paper

Quality & Size

- Professional, semi-professional, or hobbyist, it doesn’t matter
- Square, roughly 24 inches by 24 inches
- 2 copies of 2 maps, for a total of 4 maps
- Hand drawn

Time Constraints

I plan to give these maps as gifts for Christmas, 2016. To allow time for framing I would prefer to have these in hand on December 1st, 2016.

Copyright

These maps are for my family’s personal use, and include depictions of private property. I would prefer if images of the maps are not widely disseminated. You are more than welcome to use the maps as part of your portfolio and I would willingly serve as a reference.
