Default Poisoned Blade end sheet map

Hey folks. Here's a new book project I thought I'd share.

Kate Elliott's fantasy novel Poisoned Blade (Court of Fives Book 2) hit bookshelves yesterday from Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. This is the second title of her's that I've had an opportunity to contribute end sheet maps for and both experiences were wonderful.

A bit more about the book from Goodreads - http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...poisoned-blade

I'm trying to keep the imagery interesting yet uncluttered. Let me know what you think!

I think you did a good job with the balance between interest and clarity.
I like the styling for the marshes. And the sea life is splendid.

Just wonderful. Simple, clear and stylish. I'm normally not a big fan of black & white maps, but this really works for me. Excellent work, really great!

Mr. Schley, this is a fantastic map. I still can't get over how much detail you put into your hand drawn maps. I could never do it! I've always been a fan of the 'Old World' feel, and your maps always make me think of that... Like a map that was drawn around the 1400's.

I also like the affect of your sea life, especially the flying fish!
Like a thief in the night
    she comes with no form
    yet tranquility proceeds
    the accursed storm...

Just the right amount of detail I'd say. Lovely work as always.
