Today I added some inner linework and a first step of map-border:

Today I took the chance of pushing the project a little further. I attached a smaller map for an overview and some first text arrangements...

This is coming along nicely randigpanzrall. I like the cliffs, they look nice and add depth to the map. Given the lighter, somewhat desaturated nature of the map however it seems to me that the colors you've chosen to represent the city are a bit too dark and saturated. Not sure if this is just me though or if others will feel the same. Something to consider at any rate. But I really like this so far.

    Cheers,
    -Arsheesh

You are not wrong arsheesh. The desaturated character of this map has its cause in my consideration of combining this with an old parchment and (that´s my idea at least) that should work good with that. But I will have my eyes on that, of cause.

Wow! I haven't seen this until now, it looks fantastic! I love the forests, the farmland, the cities, the inset map, the rhumb lines........ Great job!

This time I was experimenting on adding a parchment to the map, just to play with the future colours and the saturation effects, please let me know your thoughts. I attached a smaller pictogramm for the Wjaellburg, beeing an important fortification and a retreat facility for the Wjaelland population. I´m not sure, if this picture will survive the experiment but at the moment, it´s an idea I´ll check...By omitting this picture, the Wjaellburg is hard to find on the map...

Tonight I worked a little at the shading in order to increase the better visibility of the heights. Some improvements with the coast too.

This is looking great Randig! I love all the little details you added, it feels like a map I can keep coming back to to explore. I'd, uh, definitely tone it down with the parchment effect you used in the third-to-last post, as it's way too strong at the moment. Honestly, I don't know if you need any sort of parchment at all, or maybe just a slight texture to make it look more authentic.. But really it looks great the way it is right now.

Also, I'm not totally convinced by the faint grey lines you have on the islands- I think they're contour lines? They looked alright when there was less detail, but now they make the map look a little "busy" with all the other great details you have in there. I think the cliffs do a fine job of showing relief on their own. Oh, and speaking of the cliffs, you might want to add that to the legend- just so dense people like me don't get confused by them.
