Wip March 2017 Challenge: Goldenleaf Lake

I rolled a 2 and a 6 for this challenge so I've got myself a nice little fishing boat in a reservoir. Not much to show yet, but I thought I'd join Francissimo so he's not just by his lonesome. Here's a quick sketch I drew up showing the overview.

I'm going to try a few different things stylistically for this map particularly with the mountain style if I can. We'll see how it goes!

This is a very punworthy thread

I reckon you'll make a reel challenge for that compass with this!

Okay, Straf, I reely think you need to scale back on these puns. I'm just plain fed up of herring them, they're not catching on and you're the gilltiest buoy around this plaice.

Anywho, a quick update, with some actual linework in place for the mountains.

That's got a good sense of depth/false perspective to it already - feels like you're kind of swooping down out of the mountains down to the lake.

I don't think you'll have to fish for compliments.

Your linework is inspiring, GLS. What are you using to get such a clean look? Stylus on a tablet?

Sorry I haven't had a proper chance to get on the Guild recently to reply to these inspiring comments!

Cheers, Hustle, great to know your like it! I'm using a graphics tablet, it's only a small one but it does the trick.

Quick update. Just threw in a mountain fill to bring out the new linework.
