Default My first map - Valakas

    Hello, long time lurker here.

Well, this is not a full map, it's finished part of the bigger map of my world.

I want to hear a critique. Sorry for my bad english, not my native language.

Looks great! I like the isometric details but in certain spots it goes flat, and you lose that illusion. Overall it looks great.

Personally I think that it's great! Some trees are a bit too spherical for my taste but the map is absolutely gorgeous Very pleasant style, it reminds me the one of Max, a fellow cartographer here.
    Do you plan coloring it?

Hmmm.... *Mouse nods slowly in agreement with Tom and Daniel*

Wish I could draw like that, CM

    A critique you say?

I can't see anything wrong with it at all.

Really nice, I like that you did some of the mountains really big, and some small, I've never thought to do it this way, and the result is very pleasing. This is inspiring to me and I can't wait to see more.

Wow, very impressive! Everything about the map is fantastic. I actually don't mind the circular trees, it gives the map a bit of a comic or cartoonish vibe.

Wow, didnt expect such kind words and so fast!

I took a lot of inspiration from Max's maps, they are just freaking gorgeus.

And i really dont know how to draw, like at all. I watched some tutorials, studied a lot great maps from this beatiful comunity. And after that i just spend a lot of time to practice (like many things in life practice and dedication is the key). Unfortunately i didn't save any previos maps to show my progress (because they really awful).

I agree with Snapalicious32 about isometric details and loosing illusion. Need more practice

I thougth about coloring, but for this moment i can't tell.

I don't really like shadows on mountains (i did them today and was eager to show my work) and i think there is a lot of empty space between roads and river. No swamps, no grass. Map look empty for my taste, but and don't understand how to make it more alive (if its right word). Maybe some ruins?

If some of you can give me advice or your thoughs i will be very grateful.

Sorry if i sound gibberish, but i never show anyone this before and these kind words mean a lot for me. Thank you all!
