Chalkria - A Blackboard Map

Here's another shot of the blackboard map I did for the January 2018 Challenge, just to show it in context. In the meantime, I have also added a title label.

Please forgive the low quality; sadly, no photo I could take with my phone would do it justice.



Now it's time to erase it and start working on a new one

You're bringing a very cool media in the mapping field, and with success, nopkin!

I remember a GoT table carved on wood... A chalkboard has the advantage to do many maps on it, but it's gonna be hard to erase such fine pieces !

It is indeed hard to wipe in 5 minutes something you've worked on for 10-15 hours and be left with just a picture of it; but, yeah... that's how blackboards work I'm starting to get used to it, and it's great therapy if one tends to get too fond of their work.

What a cool medium! Instead of having an ever filling closet of old maps you can quickly start afresh. I'm excited for more of these.

Just thinking of you wiping this away makes me think of Buddhist sand mandalas, which are exquisite and colourful patterns created in sand on a floor, and then simply wiped away.

For myself I'm not so sure I wouldn't spray the board with lacquer, take it down to sell it, and replace it with a new one

This is amazing. Love how you used a chalk board to make this. Take some more nice photos of it before you erase it. I'd hate to see a think like this just get erased never to be seen again.
