New France: Colonization Poster

Background:

After the end of the seven years war France was in a dire situation to gain control over the newly acquired territory in former British North America; As such a campaign of settlement posters and free land for agricultural purposes was put into place. This map is an alternate "provocative poster" to attempt to get immigrants to come to New France from across Europe denoting the undeveloped "free" land. In actuality the cost of the journey and bureaucratic paperwork necessary would cost a settler nearly 5 pounds of gold to complete. The scheme was however effective to gain funds in order to pay off the massive debt incurred during the Seven Years War.
