Thread: May 2018 Entry: Trade Stamps of the Lulth Nation

Post May 2018 Entry: Trade Stamps of the Lulth Nation

I searched "old russian stamps" for some inspiration and found some simple graphics to emulate- thick marginalia patterns with 2-3 color line art.

I'll be shooting for 4 stamps: A regional map of a coastal volcanic or meteor impact chain, a map of a palace garden complex, a portrait of Countess Mirtchdir: Master of Sovereigns, and a landscape of a planar gateway to the Feywold along a main road.

I'll flesh out some of the world details as I go. I've got a slot for a currency value on each one, and a bit of space dedicated to a short name or description. Here's some of the basic margin art I drew earlier in the week for now.

Gate and Coastal map in one image, Portrait and Palace gardens in the other.

I plan to do as much of the stamps as I can on paper barring any text, then scan in the drawings and add text, coloring, and detailed shading in GIMP if I can. Never used GIMP so I may stall out entirely at that point... or earlier.

Wip May 2018 challenge WIP pt 2

I've added a bit to the interior of 2 of the four stamps- the Feywold Gate and Coastal map. Still no text, shading, or coloring.

I'm trying to come up with a plan for the margin design still.

Timallen's martian stamps have similar color and shading to what I'm hoping to emulate, and their Martian postcard WIP is pretty inspirational.

Beautiful work! I second (or third?) the tree comment.
