    Map Scandinavia ca. 1363

    Hello fellow cartographers!

Here comes a map I've been working on in early 2018.
It is a fictionalized map of early-XIV-century Scandinavia, with a focus on Sweden of course.

The work was commissioned for the young-adult historical fantasy novel "Slaget om Salajak" (The Battle of Salajak), by Swedish author Johan Theorin, which will be published here in Sweden later this month.

Done entirely in Clip Studio Paint.
    Enjoy!

EDIT: Check out my website if you want to see the other illustrations I did for the book.

Always a pleasure to see new work from you Filippo
Very nice clean style. I like the pen weight difference between the main lines of coast and mountains versus the trees and people.

Lovely work. Everything is beautifully clear, with just the right amount of detail. The cartouche is gorgeous.

This is weird... I know I answered this thread yesterday but can't find it...?
    Well... second try, then !
A superb work, Onez ! I especially love the small illustrations and can't decide if I prefer your towns, animals or boat ! But most of all, the map fits really well with the other illustrations you posted on your website : it's a gorgeous pack you made !

    Thank you everyone!

I was thinking of making a color version of this one. Do you think it could benefit from color?

That's a masterfully executed map and a little eye candy due to the wonderful contrast between sea and land. Great one Filipo !

I'd be interested to see how you would do this in color, but only if you have extra time.
