    Map Aerith Falls [Traditional Drawing]

As part of the training of sketching the mountains from a bird's eye view, I made a map of the city located in the mountain gap

Unfortunately, I have to start paying attention to the markers, because they wear out as water

Those mountains are very convincing! Definitely not an easy style to get right, one that I've never tried. I really like the city set up as well, looks like somewhere I'd like to retire.. Did you use watercolor?

The linework looks pretty good to me. However looking at this map it's not clear to me where he light-source is. The highlights and shadowed areas don't always seem consistent. Initially it looks like the light is coming from the upper right, but then looking about if this were so there are areas of mountains in shadow that should be in light, and many areas in light that ought to be in shadow. This might be an area worth focusing on a bit more in latter pieces.

    Cheers,
