I kind of liked the second mountains better than the third also. The third set just seems a little too flat.

After a dreaded attack of real life I'm ready to plod on with these mountains
I should have probably redrawn the whole set in the lighter grey so the black borders may look a little odd. Good suggestion though thank you on the lighter grey, i think it could work ok. I look forward to your comments.

That works a lot better. They fit with the rest of the map now.
Yeah, looks nice...diggin it.

Thanks for the comments.
I think this will be the last version of this map as i think it has done its job. With your help these mountains are my favorite black and white ones i have done. The pine forest, swamp and dunes have just been quickly added to flesh out the map a bit.
Any comments appreciated but onto the next project i think.

Very nice - definitely gets my vote.
Looks good! When you have some time to doodle, you should think about making more squiggly lines in your mountain shape instead of just an inverted V, just to see how you like the effect, as well as possibly making the shadow transitions squiggly also and not a straight line. It goes a long way toward making each mountain look distinct...
