February 2021 Challenge: Nessa'Mor

Two things, I at least wanted to start adding the base colors to the land scape. I really do still have quite a few places left to draw in. But, at least having the feel of it there gives me time to consider the colors.
Second, I started cleaning up the worst of the lineart mishaps. Though, I do wonder how clean I want to make it. The map does have a raw feel to it... Anyhoo, it's getting somewhere.

Okay, so I was busy with doing more lineart for my buildings, and then I got sidetracked...

So, I tried making icons for the city and well I do say I am quite pleased with how they came out. Question now is, what other kind of icons would be useful to TTRPG people? Any ideas?

Now that I'm thinking about it. It would be rather fun to see you all's interpretation of the icons.

The one at the very bottom is docks, and the one above it is a gym. Then to the right we have an optometrist and an art supply store. The one by the wall is an animal shelter, and there's the subway entrance. In the middle, on the right there's a musical instruments store, above it a clothing store, and on the left a telescope and camera store. On the pillar, from the right, we have a perfume store, an exotic pets store, a print shop and a radio station. Above them is an airport. On the path up the cliff first from the bottom is a toll booth, and then I guess a rest stop, because it looks like a sad, tired face. I could be wrong about some of these because I just woke up and didn't zoom in on any of that. I'm sure you'll provide the labels though, to let us know the exact names of that exotic pet store and so on.

One can say a city without a exotic pet store can hardly be called a city at all.

There is still linework to do. But I wanted to start adding color to the buildings and see what kind of shading I want for this particular map.

I was thinking the most involved part of the map would be bundles of buildings necessary to fill in the city. But, it seems the here there more specific parts of the map takes up a bit extra time. Still, coming from needing 4 months last time to do this city map, taking about ten days to get to this point is super awesome!

Anyway, here I added bits and bops here and there, alongside the Dancing trees and the Vanishing falls. Only difference is, in the gloomlight wars one of the trees had been felled. I can only imagine this remains a symbol to what was lost during the war to the people.

Luckily, this time I had quite a bit of fun with them.

So for this update, I added Tide Rock and started with doing waves for the sea. Oh! And I added the Promise Memorial, plus some land shading.
