    Map Fjords of Hyurden

Hello! I'm excited to post my first map to the Cartographer's Guild! I've been drawing maps for just under a year now, and have found it to be a wonderful and relaxing hobby.

In this map I particularly wanted to practice cliffs and landmark illustrations, as well as colorization.

It is hand drawn with pen and paper, then colored in Gimp.

I very much welcome any tips/constructive criticism.

    Enjoy!

Congrats on your first map post! Glad you've been enjoying your cartography journey so far.

I think you're starting to develop a good style here. I like your little illustrations, the villages in particular. The cliffs could maybe use a bit of variation, as they are kind of evenly shaped all throught the map, but the look of them is very nice.

Nice work so far, keep at it!

I really like this. It's a map full of possibilities. Well done.

Regarding feedback. Same with the cliffs, the uniform line of darker trees around your forests catch the eye. Maybe a touch of variations of greens might help. (And just saying I'm going into finer details here to nitpick, it's a solid map that does what is needed.)

Another small tidbit, you don't have to say "The map of the..." Just a: The Fjords of Hyurden, would suffice.

    Happy mapping!

P.S. I also started my mapping journey by drawing stuff on paper first and then switching to GIMP. Though, now I mainly just use GIMP, it gives your freedom to iterate on your lineart more thoroughly.

It looks incredible; the colors go nicely together. Overall it looks excellent.

Here's a little nitpick: The lettering around the towns and villages could use some contouring to the surrounding terrain and the buildings themselves.
