Default World of Numea ( Commission )

Here it is another commission , this world requested a special adaptation of magi and realism so I post both the original sketch request by the author and how I come up with the realistic worldmap after lot of work .

There are many features required , those had to also match with realistic tectonics, climate etc, Mana wastes deserts, special featured island shapes, circular islands etc .

This is really great work! I especially love the left most continent and the central mountain range in the north. How big was this map in full resolution?

Wilbur has been giving me issues with my large files. World machine is great, but been having issues with river placement.

Same but I fight with them a lot to get what I want, rivers in WM are only good for small scale not worldscapes , I use mostly to generate source material for elevations.

Agreed there. Seems like rivers need only custom placement. In photoshop I draw from the elevation, and where the lore rivers should be.

Wow, that's huge! BUt makes sense with this level of detail. Do you create the base heightmap in WM or are you also using real world DEMs here?
