I have a slightly older Wacom Tablet, love it!, doesn't take too long to get use to it. I have a MEDIUM size one, I felt the smaller one was a little too limiting. One thing I would do, find out the size of the drawing area of the tablet and cut out a piece of paper that size and see if you are comfortable drawing within that size. Good luck, good price on that one.

I got a tablet that is just about as small and as cheap as you can get (I think it was about $70 on sale) and it made a huge change in how I work with Photoshop and Illustrator. I'm not particularly great at art yet, so my process mostly involves slamming down piles of pixels and then doing it again until it looks right! So I'm not the most demanding user for a tablet, but even a low-end tablet like this one has made a huge difference in how I interact with the digital page. Yes, there are times when I want to do a bunch of little lines close together and my tablet isn't so keen on that, but usually with a zoom and some care I can get where I want. I'd love to upgrade one day, but I can't emphasize enough how liberating it felt going from mouse to a pen.

Here's the tablet I own, I think, but the price seems way too high…

Ordered my Wacom tablet, it should be here in about a week! I'm very excited, it can't come too soon!

Hi all, just adding my two cents:

Instead of a tablet or mouse, I moved on to a Surface Pro computer with touch screen and pen. It's super mobile and super versatile. I can use it with the type cover (handy for Photoshop shortcuts) wherever I have access to a table, flip the type cover to the back and work with the screen only when I'm on the train in full morning rush, or when I'm home I can hook it up to a second monitor, I use it just like a Wacom tablet.

I used to work with a Wacom Bamboo in the past and I would still highly recommend it (especially considering the price compared to a full touch screen laptop!), but in the rush-and-bustle circumstances I tend to work on my maps, my current setup is just perfect

    Hi guys,
There are some...interesting choices...re tablets. I'm getting one for my birthday. I'm looking at either a Ugee M1000L, Huion HP610 both around $60-80AUD on the interweb or a small Wacom (the only one I can find at that price range). Both the imports have a at least an 8" x 5" work area, the Ugee supposedly 10" x 6". Has anyone had experience with these? Online reviews seem to indicate they're good value for money for beginners. Thoughts?

Edit: Decided to go with the Huion H610PRO, 10"x6", rechargeable pen, 2000+ pen sensitivity, customisable hot keys etc. $70AUD inc delivery. Haven't order it yet, will be doing so shortly...

So I just bought a new (used but not so much) tablet today.
A good ol' Wacom Bamboo pen.

I just need to get use to it now.
It feels like I need to relearn how to do things.

Happy new tablet, Azelor! Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

I have a Wacom Intuos and it has been a lot of fun to get used to as I had never used one before. I'm not using it as much as I should but I'm not getting a lot of time lately to spend on cartography/artwork. From having worked with some artists doing graphic design with tablets, Wacom is a very good brand and using a tablet in general is a really good idea for upping your game in terms of digital editing. I have had one major problem however, I couldn't get my Wacom Intuos to work on Windows 7 to save my life. I had to upgrade my PC to Windows 10 to get it working. This was probably an issue with my system but none of the steps or solutions I found via googling helped me to resolve it, so just keep an eye out for compatibility with whatever you may get!

    Always tablet for drawing,no doubt!

My first one, long time ago... was the wacom bamboo, it is a very cheap one, nice for people who want to try without spending a lot of money (less 40$ on ebay or amazon).
My choice nowadays is ipad pro 12", ipencil is the best stylus in market!

I switched for an iPad pro with an Apple pencil, no regrets.
As Fran said, the pencil is the best stylus I tried.
