I like the style - it looks good. I'm not sure it quite looks like oil on board. The texture looks like it's applied on top of the colour rather than coming through from beneath. Also, there are very different brush sizes - you have some large circular brushes within the landmasses that sugest quite a loose build up of colour, while you also have a perfectly regular outline that shouts out that it was computer generated with a stroke around the landmass. If you want it to look hand painted I'd suggest having a background layer with the paper texture and then painting on a new layer with some more paintbrush style brushes. The hard round brushes break the painterly look a little. I certainly think it is worth pursuing as you certainly have a lovely style developing here.

I like the mountains. The 4th panel does look cool, though I think they could probably do with some hard shadows similar to the style you've used in the arctic regions. As for doing them quickly and adding a side on aspect to the style, I'm afraid I can't help much there. I think good mountains are the bane of everyone's life here. I'd certainly suggest going through some of the threads in the tutorials section, especially this one:

That might give you some ideas.

I think this is a great map and I look forward to seeing how it develops. Welcome to the Guild!
