Last try before going to a vacation. Spent a more time with it to get better 3D quality. It looks better now especially when I added some lighting to it. But as it is done with photoshop and not a read 3D program any editing requires quite a lot of work.

Hi Pasis, gorgeous work and imaginative work as usual. Not sure if you've already tried this but one way to make the map look more '3d ish' would be to make a grayscale height map out of your contenents and use that as your channel on the 'Render Lighting effects' filter.?

Another way might be to download a free 3d program like Bryce 5.5, and use your map as a texture fill.

Of course Redrobes and Waldronate are miles ahead on this type of mapping now...

I think the smoke works pretty well. Not a huge fan of the wood texture.

mmm looking at the wood texture each of the 'boards' is identical which may be a part of it.

It probably works best as a normal map I think.
