    Post Making a Globe

2] I have no idea how to make a globe out of this. Does anyone here? Can someone help me with that?
I was bored and couldn't sleep last night and I liked your alternate earth map a lot so I went and did this...

(It's only 1.5MB and it loops)

For interest's sake, I added mountains and a cloud layer.

After making the animation, I can see I'd need to add some more space above and below the original map image so the continents don't take up the whole side in the USA.

    What do you think?

I've uploaded the file at double size so the details are a little fuzzy but the file size is as low as I could get it.

The mountains are probably not scientifically correct and certainly not what you'd have in mind but I added them to show a little variation.

I also coloured the map including adding deserts and white polar regions but they don't seem to have come out in the final render and it looks pretty much all green unfortunately. I would also make sure they'd come out properly if I did it again as well as the scale of some of the continents stretched out over the the entire vertical plane.
