    Thank you.

The basic idea is a map that displays information so that people can take sections of it to develop regional maps. Comparing it to the map of North America not only shows scale, but provides a real life reference for development. (Though the equators do not align on this map so climate relations don't match.) While I have no objection to being artistic, I think too many mapmakers go overboard on the art and don't provide enough useful information. It's possible I go too far the other way and try to cram too much information into my maps.

I've been looking at the tutorials and other maps on the site and getting a very good idea of things I want to change and do for future development. I've also been experimenting with layers, masks, paths, and channels on the logo for my wiki and learning a great deal that will be useful on future maps.

My greatest wish as the moment is a utility for generating crumple or wrinkle textures.

There are bunches of tutorials on the web for doing that kind of thing. Now the majority are for photoshop, so not sure how well they would translate over to GIMP.

There may even be something available in the tutorial section here.

Strangely, while I've run across that phrase, or the equivalent, 20 to 30 times in my searches, I've yet to run across a tutorial for any program.
