You're right. Those kick much butt.
Found this on Boing Boing - some of these dials would make good inspiration for compass roses perhaps (my tenuous reason for posting this). I just think that many of them look so cool.
Great for SF / retro map ornaments

If the radiance of a thousand suns was to burst at once into the sky, that would be like the splendor of the Mighty One...I am become Death, the Shatterer of worlds.

Yeah - really cool site that. Isnt it interesting that when something is new like the radios of the day that they had such a variety of styles and as time goes on they coalesce into some standard style which often is not the one you like the most until someone works out that you can go all 'retro' and back to the originals again...
Oh - And you've got to know these things when your king... etc etc
That dial site is very cool. As for Tweety's nuts... the less said the better.
Arrgh! I just went back to the site and it has been suspended. I guess someone either hasn't paid their hosting bill or more likely, the bandwidth use went over their allotted amount (probably the increased hits from BOING BOING).

Argh...I should have copied them all to my reference folder while I had the chance.
I tried using the Internet Archive and I was able to find past copies of the site but so far none that had any of the radio dial pics archived.

Maybe it will come back online at some point (fingers are crossed).
