    Ciao and welcome !

I think the 800x1000 is a bit small. I think you will find it more of a problem than using a larger image and 'resampling' it smaller as you need it. Its very hard to make it bigger later.

Which size would you use for a regional map, then?

I'm working on the map every now and then, when I have spare time.
I've fixed the sea, added a pattern which I find cool and tried to lay down some names.
Oh, and the darker region is not a stain anymore
Nothing about the desert and the icons, yet.

Here is version number 2, waiting for you comments:

I don't think that I'd change a thing, this is pretty nice as is.

I agree. Maybe just add some sort of speckled pattern to simulate sand around that area where you wanted to put a desert.

I love this kind of style and I think it looks fantastic. I especially like how you've changed the tree sizes a bit; that makes all the difference.

@Ascension: yeah! If YOU think that it's done.. then it's done!

    I love it too!
Thank you for your appreciation! The "tree size trick" came out only at halfway of my work: in fact, the northern forest is not as good as the southern one

@Gamerprinter: thanks for you examples. next map will have the proper resolution

Talkin bout the map itself, I haven't done significant changes since last time, just added some "bruises" for the desert (bad effect, I should say.. I'm not happy with that), so I'm not going to attach it again.
On sunday I'll gather with my friends to play Solar System and I'll show them this brand new map.
I think that playing the game we're going to come up with new locations and features to add in the next version, so for now I'm in standby: no matter about the desert
    ciao ciao,
