Here's another update. Decided to enlarge the map abit and redesign the shape of the bottom half of the landmass, as wasn't overly pleased with the original shape. I also wanted to make more of a feature of the two islands to the south, as they're reasonably important in the narrative i'm planning (and thought they'd look better if bigger lol). I'm still playing around with the background stuff as i'm not quite sure how i want that to look in the end. Also adding features slowly as i plan out the story, so alot of open space still on the land, but i have a vague idea of how it'll pan out. Experimenting with the coast last night (little wave lines etc) and decided to hash in the sea outline i'd put round the land and it kinda looks like beaches or something, so might use that more. Also added some blank space to the right for compass and a couple of little illustrations i need to add at a later date.

    Cheers,

    Jam

Looking very good. I prefered the darker background though plus I think the landmass outline is a bit thick. But still - I wished my maps would turn out like this.

That's a killer looking swamp, well done.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I think i agree with you Rongar about the darker background. When i enlarged the image size it screwed up some of my layers abit so redid them quickly. Will aim to get it back to a similar level of darkness to the previous image, as it does look kind of richer, whereas new background is abit washy at the moment. Will try thinning out the coast line abit too, as am not happy with how much the land pops from the background, looks abit weird considering the handdrawn style. Thanks Sirith, i'm using Photoshop cs4 and a Wacom Tablet.

Will aim to get abit more done over the weekend and update early next week.
