    Wip Albernia & Windhag

    Hey guys!

This is the reason I'm currently so slow working on my own stuff like Barradesh (over here). Currently I'm working on a map for a region in Aventuria (The Dark Eye, (c) Ulisses Spiele & Distribution GmbH) and I am allowed to share some steps. I was heavily inspired lately so this is is not 100% the style I usually go for - and I'm not finished with it yet. I exported some steps for you (sadly not at the time, but only now), but I'm sure you can see what was done when. Next step would be some coloring. This time, no baby-steps ;)

Love the colors and borders, but does get a little busy with the rhumblines (could they be thinner? or some transparency?) Really beautiful style. You going to add shading on the mountains?

I will blur the lines out a bit more, had already planned to do this. At the moment they are at 100% black. Yes, the mountains will get some shadow / color. Thank you, snodsy!

It looks really cool, I especially like the shields instead of the generic city icon.

Great work on this one Steffen. I like this style, it reminds me of your Aventurien map (: Nice to get a glimpse of what you've been working on lately!

Ooh, this is lovely stuff Steffen. The linework is gorgeous, especially in the border art and illustrations, and I also love the way you're doing the larger more blocky font.
Personally, I don't mind the rhumbs being as strong as they are, as it's quite a contrasty map at the moment and their boldness works for that, but I guess when more colour is added they may be more distracting.

Either way, it's shaping up to be a great map Steffen and I can't wait to see what you do with those colours!
