Fun little dungeon map damonjynx. I like the trapped room encounter as well as the elemental encounter.

I think they're my favourites too! Nasty and hopefully, unexpected. The PC's will need to get very high rolls on their Perception roll to realise something is amiss in room 3 and an equally high roll on their WILL save or they are in for an interesting time...

As the Crypt has been locked away for aeons I needed encounters that featured critters that were either non-living or have no need for sustenance; hence constructs, undead and elementals. I think the encounters work. We're playing Pathfinder ATM and I was thinking of PC's between 6th-8th level - would you agree?

@ Mouse, Thanks. I'll update this thread with the results, hopefully it goes OK.

Awesome classic-mapping! Perfect size excursion. I came up with one last year that was VERY similar

Thanks Warbeer, glad you like it. What can I say, 2 great minds think alike, or should that be, fools seldom differ... Can you post yours up?

Update: The player map above will print at 1 square per inch, which probably won't be enough room to run the encounters if your group uses mini's, particularly in area 5 if you roll high! I've revised the text of the adventure to suggest a scale of 1sq=10ft rather than 1sq=5ft. To that end, because I'm hopefully running it for my group this weekend, I've created the map at double the size. 2 x A0 (ANSI E should be OK as well) splits are below for those that want to print as a battle mat.

Thanks to everyone for their kind words regarding this map/entry.

Just for for fun I thought I'd upload my GM notes for the dungeon. I was originally going to have the Witch King be an augmented mummy but then I thought, why not have a vampire sorcerer that looks like a mummy....

Note: APL (Average Party Level) is around 6-7, for non-gamers; in Pathfinder which these notes refer to, D&D and it's clones, characters advance by levels in classes, this figure is the average of all the characters levels playing in the campaign/adventure and is used as a guide to how difficult the challenges should be for a party of 4-6 players. For those of you who don't play WHY NOT?

Apparently, as is often the case with my stuff it seems, I was a little premature in posting a finished map.

There were 2 area's that concerened me, area 4 & 5. I thought by re-scaling the map it would alleviate the problems, of course it didn't, it just made the map bigger. So I fixed area 5 by reducing the cages to 2 squares square rather than 3 which provided a heap of extra room for the combat encounter; assuming a party of 4 adventurers that would be a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 20 combatants.

Area 4 wasn't so easy to fix due to the way I'd drawn the dungeon so I left it as is. The problem is that the corridor should be 2 squares wide not one and the door to room 4 should be a double door not a single one. Canny players will be able to "block" the monsters so they only have to fight one at a time, rather than both simultaneously.

Anyhow here is the revised version and player map. Scale is 1 sq = 5 feet. Players version is for A1 or ANSI D printing.
