Camfor, the City of the Sun.
Experimenting with a method of placing the city blocks, especially the high-density "slums"-type areas.

I think there is generally just 1 row but sometimes you get2 row of buildings without alleys in the back.

Well I guess the problem is that it's difficult to show with your current style.

Well... Never did city maps seriously so I will follow this thread as well and see how it can help me in future projetcs. Keep it up Auke!

Yes, the building density is high. At this map's scale (which I forgot to show!) the tiniest black square is 40x40 feet. So the bigger black polygons represent several buildings (or a complex of related structures).

A narrow building could be as small as 6m large.
Just a coincidence, I was looking at a building in Angers, it's about 6m x 9m. Or 20 by 30 feet.

Ooh, that's lovely, thanks! Here in South Africa, we don't have that typically medieval style unfortunately.

For town/city mapping, my unit size is 20x20 feet for buildings, and I think in terms of a rugby field (100x70 m) to visualize larger spaces.
