    Map The nine Kingdoms

Map made by the great Azélor with accent.
Done with Photoshop and a mouse, not a tablet.
It was a fun project but unfortunately, I had to drop the animated part because of technical limitations.

I love pixel art and I love this map
You've been exploring some awesome features lately, wonderful varieties of vegetation and farming.
I look forward to see what you have planned next.

Azélor! You've got a tablet, and I know you love it...

    Only kidding

I'm not all that keen on pixel art because that was what I was stuck with until Corel gave me the power to make more photorealistic graphics back in the 90s, but I do appreciate the time and effort that went into this map since I did an entire character portrait in little black dots on my Atari once (but lost the only printout about 5 years ago in a house move)

EDIT: Sorry! Went rambling off down memory lane again and forgot to say "Well done"

Thanks! I don't have anything specific planned mapwise.

Here's a map I did for you Mouse, for the nostalgia
I used to work in a place where the software had only 3 or 4 colours like that.

You might have to lower the screen resolution to see it properly, or not, it's not that great.

Did you hand-paint each and every pixel?

Seriously though, very cool map! Brings back memories of my early gaming days.

I really like this map Azélor! Don't really have much to say about it, just that a pixel art map is really original and you've executed it very well (:

I'd love to see the animated part. I'm guessing the file size was the limitation for the challenge. Do you think there's a chance we might see what you had in mind for this map ?

    Default Great retro look

That map, with the pixelation, is definitely a blast from the past, for those of us who started out very early in gaming

I did a lot of clicking but many elements are duplicated.
It's good to hear I was able to capture that era of gaming. I was not sure since it was before my time, I think.

The problem is that the animated file would need to be a Gif.
At the standard size, it should work.
But the map you are seeing is 4x4, so 16 times larger than the original version.
At that size, Photoshop won't let me save it as an animated Gif for some reason.
I had to make it larger, otherwise it's impossible to see it properly with a web browser.
You can see it fine with the Windows image viewer at the default size, but it won't show the animation.

The solution would be to only animate a portion of the map, or use another file extension than Gif. Unless there is a workaround.
