    Default Malazan: Seven Cities Revision

Here is a revision of my Seven Cities Map which I created earlier this year. I was happy with the style of my Genabackis map, so I wanted to apply the style to Seven Cities in a higher resolution.

I created the labels to be simpler so that I can fit into any additional Malazan maps I might make. I will update Genabackis to look similar.

    Tools:
Affinity Photo iPad - Drawing, Shading and Coloring
Affinity Photo Mac - Overall Design and Textures
    Affinity Designer Mac - Icons
Fonts - IM Fell Double PIca, IM Fell English

    Thanks!

    Very nice, Joshua!
I also dig your color-scheme a lot. The map has a really nice feel.

If i had to nitpick and/or point out something that could be enhanced upon, I think it is the mountains and the overall feel of the mountain-ranges. As you use no mountain variation, it gets a very non-natural feel over the map as a whole. It's a "lot of single mountains"-feel instead of a mountain-ranges feel.
On the other hand, maps often have a "we go for one symbol for each entry" construction...so as i said, it's a nitpick, not a greater critic or anything.

Really nice one ! I especially like the relief of the dunes and the riverbanks. Well done

Very nice map, very lively, very "present", thanks to the choice of colours. It's particularly successful for the sea and coasts, I think.

Thanks Eilathen! I agree with you, it would look more organic with different shaped mountains. I also want to make the moutain linework thinner. It's almost like the mountains need variation in size, but the trees don't. I will probably redo it. Thanks again.

A good modern and traditional styles mix on this map. As everyone, I do love your colors here, even if I'm usually not fond of dark waters. Good job, Joshua ! ^^

Wonderful color transitions. I also really like the simple yet quite attractive design of your border, title, compass rose and icons. All of these elements work wonderfully in this piece.
