Help RobA's "TLS" technique from his RPG map tutorial.

The "Three Layer Sandwich" technique seems actually to be a FOUR layer technique: Shape layer, Noise layer, Clip layer, and Mask layer.

I'm confused as to the relationship of the Clip and Mask layers. I think that is why I can not get the sea to come out right, or if I do, when I try to add the first part of the land, I wind up with a green gradient across the entire picture, a green sea, or a blended green and blue sea. I've been through the tutorial painstakingly about seven or eight times, and I'm obviously missing something.

It has been a while, But I believe that the sandwich actually comprises three layer, and the layer mask is used to create a mask that is applied to one or more of those other layers. the layer used to create the mask is turned off after the mask is created....

Like I said, it has been a while, but that is what I recall...will have to look it over again to refresh my memory...

Turned off!!!!! I don't recall seeing that in the tutorial, but it might explain some of my problems.

BTW: what happened to RobA and Wisemoon? From what I can find they haven't been around since January.
