Damn, I was just going to steal this map and sell it, but I can't because it has an EPIC WATERMARK!
Anyway, the map looks cool from what I can see.
Hello folks,
I have a "little" project going on on Patreon, and last month I released my first map!
Here's a resized and watermarked version of it:
And this is the reward for the upper tier patreons, my first character illustration:

Pretty cool to see your project going ahead and the map and illustration both seem very good but I have to agree with Obbehobbe, you came heavy on the watermarks, it's hard to see through the protecting spell you erected
This looks like it could be worth seeing, but the watermark is so exaggerated that it obscures things to the point where it's nothing more than a waste of time to call up. Sorry, but this is one to avoid, as far as I'm concerned.

I struggle to see things on my laptop anyway, but this is just too extreme for me to make anything out, so I can't really say if its good or bad!!!

You are right guys, the watermark is a bit "strong"...
The truth is that I don't know well how to proceed: since I offer maps for subscription, I'm struggling thinking about how to promote them, since only my patrons should see them (nothing personal! It's just the way this thing is made for)
-The first idea was to cover them with a watermark, but it's pretty unpopoular as I see..
-Another option could be make a small crop of a map/image portion, showing it in high detail
-Otherwise, I should remove the lower reward tier (the one that grant access to all my works in low resolution, for just 1 dollar) and use those low resolution images to share and promote
Happy to accept any comment/critique about it!

It's not that the watermark is popular or unpopular. It's that it's so pronounced that one can't see the map.
I tend to skip such things. People post their maps here so that others can see them. If you only want to show us pieces of maps, I personally am uninterested.-Another option could be make a small crop of a map/image portion, showing it in high detail
The value of that approach depends upon the resolution. It seems to me that one shows a map here because one wants others to see it.-Otherwise, I should remove the lower reward tier (the one that grant access to all my works in low resolution, for just 1 dollar) and use those low resolution images to share and promote
You also simply could use a sensible watermark, like some others do.

If you could make the one you already have so faint that you can hardly see it, that would work better, and people like me with 15 inch screens might be able to see what you are, after all, trying to show us
You could also try a home-made steganograph, which is where the watermark is multiplied into the actual image and extremely difficult to remove, even with specialist software.
You can get software to do this for you (expensive), or you can do a DIY version of it by following Redrobes instructions here:
