Map Land of Jeru - fantasy map commission

    Hey all,

I was commissioned a couple of months ago to draw a map for author Amy Harmon and her new YA fantasy book, the Bird and the Sword. I've also attached a picture of the greyscale version one can see in the book.

Hope you'll like it. As usual, feel free to rep, rate or run away

The almost embossed rivers, the shading of the forests, the coastal waves and the illustration ... so much wins in this map ...

Yep, like it a lot. Simple yet effective. Well done, Max.

And i am glad that authors start to use the talent around here. If fantasy novels start to use such excellent maps as default, i am full of joy *remembers all the books with awful maps or, even worse, with no map at all* ... *shudders*

Gorgeous shading that works so well both in the colour and B&W versions. The sword/title illustration is fantastic!
