Wip September 2016 Challenge: Sprouting Fear on Inocybe III

With the fantastic challenge suggestion by Neyjour being realized this month, i just had to enter the fun!
Delving into the enormous and fascinating realm of fungi for inspiration has been a lot of fun already. Eventually i chose the palette of the Inocybe Tahquamenonensis (not only because of the wonderful name ). Playing around with possible color combinations, it became clear to me that it has a rather "alien" feeling to it, so i decided to map a small region on an exotic swampy planet with strange fungal vegetation.
I thought it makes a perfect setting for adventurous exploration. In this case by an intrepid space pirate duo (Archie and Salazar, known by their race for promising loot in Musfat Spaceport), who had to make an emergency landing near a small smugglers nest in an abandoned military outpost. On their mission to salvage some badly needed spare parts in the surrounding swampy fungal jungle, they learn about the cause of the garrison's abandonment many years ago... The usually peaceful, frog-like natives of the planet, living in strange symbiosis with the giant fungi, are behaving strangely of late. Will our heroes have a chance to escape the eldritch horrors of Inocybe III? Find out more in: "Sprouting Fear", the latest Space-Pulp adventure map!

Oh boy ! The setting is more than appealing and the map is already very appealing. Cannot wait to see where you're headed with this !

Nice! I love the idea - kind of reminds of something you might have read in Heavy Metal magazine back when it was good.

Love the font, ties so well with color and theme, great start has a sort of comic book feel.

That's a fun little pulp era story line. The map is starting out well, and I think the font you've chosen for the title is perfect given the genre that this map applies to. Looking forward to seeing updates here.
