Hello all,
I'm joining this community partly to have access to the attached images in the forum posts, and partly to spur myself on to actually completing a project and posting it here, for criticism, constructive or otherwise.
I'm new to using a computer for mapping. I've recently switched to Linux, so Inkscape and GIMP will be my tools. I'm still learning the programs and have been impressed by them so far. I've messed around a bit with Campaign Cartographer 2 in the past, but I think its CAD approach is not for me.
My main interest is in mapping for role playing games, primarily D&D, at all levels (from whole world maps down to building interiors, etc).
I'm very impressed by this site. There is some truly great artwork here. It is a great resource, and thanks to you all for it.
