Thread: Peeling Paint

    Default Peeling Paint

So I was driving by an old garage, and stopped to take some photos of the chipped, peeling paint.

    Here is one:

That I started with by tracing the bitmap in inkscape and moved tings around a bit, then brought the path into gimp to paint. Just playing with this technique, not sure how far I'll go with it. Most of the textures have come from genetica viewer.

Turn down the texture on the ocean and you got a winner there. Nice job, bro.

Agree with Ascension. The oceans as they are kind of draw the eye too much. The islands are great though. Love how you can make out all the little fields etc. Lovely.

Edit: I took you over 1000 rep. I feel honoured.

Great idea. There's something funny going on with the mountaintops - they're a bit square and choppy? Otherwise looking great.

I quite like that about the mountains. Gives it an impressionistic vibe. The sea looks a lot better now Rob.
