Your map looks very nice, and different from most of the maps here. Keep up the good work, and have some rep for the map!
this is a map of the terragen sphere of around 5000 ly radius for the orions arm metaverse to replace the current general map:
hope you like it (it still needs trimming of the edges, its the small version).

Its an interesting style, with some really neat aspects. But for me the small white text is illegible.

You said this is the small version, so I'm suspecting the print will be more legible at the full size?
I do love the scale though, that's nifty

Are you saying that the depth of each volume is essentially homogenous across the 2D shapes you have colored in? I think (pardon the pun) you could add an extra dimension to the map by showing depth. Ideally you'd oblique the entire thing and build 3D shapes, but I know that's difficult to achieve. You might at least use lighter shades of the colors to show shallower parts of the volumes, and darker for deeper. You could also hatch them for overlap, if you had that 3rd dimension. I mean, we've got somewhere around 1,000 lightyears of thickness in our galaxy! That's a boatload of space that you're not taking into account here.
I love your names -- not just political but corporate and virtual. Very cool.
I love the outward-from-center / frayed-at-the-edges shapes you've done. They imply a history of expansion and pioneering. That's awesome.
I think the buffer territory is a too regular in thickness.
Venus Public Transit, Map Of Ceres, Jack Vance's Ports Of Call & Lurulu ... why do I only have 3 maps here?
steel general, yes thats hard to read becouse as Coyotemax suggested it is the small version, they are infact 30 points in size, large text is at around 400 points.
töff, thank you for the suggestion, ill definitly take a look at it today, but you got the thickness of the galaxy wrong as its actually 10,000 ly, the names arent mine they were already created for the rpg metaverse & ty for the rest
