This map was made for a Brazilian RPG Author, Marcelo Paschoalin who is translating one of his book into English and wanted a map update to go along with it. He had initially requested something like S. John Ross's Uresia so this map is similar, in that it is a woodcut map, but went a different way when it changed to B&W, and gained terrain features.
This map was created using a Gimp->Inkscape, rinse and repeat work-flow, with most of the layers being created in Inkscape then composited in Gimp. A bit of WIP can be found in this thread.

I would like to have made the mountains a bit lighter, but the requester preferred them as is, so this is how they shall remain.

Here is the map applied to a textured bg, with a 1/2 px displacment using the texture as a source to make it look less computer generated.
