First, I would say to get some things (images of trees and rocks n stuff) from the Dunjinni user forums and then plop em down where ya want em.

Agreed that this is the easiest way to make maps at this scale.

FYI, the DJ user forum is http://www.dundjinni.com/forums/default.asp?C=4

For the terrain, it is usually a matter of using seamless textures (grass, rock, water, sand) filling layers, and layer masks to hide/reveal things.

If you want to make everything from scratch, each thing could be its own tutorial (drawing grass, making a rock, etc.)

How much detail are you hoping for in a tutorial?

    Thanks for the advice.

I tried it with the stuff from dundjinni and created the "thing" below. For a beginner, not too bad. ;- )

But actually I would prefer a battlemap that has more the atmosphere of a "painting" than the seemingly three dimensional things that are given on dundjinni (the trees, the rocks I used for the map). I would like to create something like this (the battlemap on the FG2 window): http://www.fantasygrounds.com/images...eenshot-03.jpg

Any ideas how to do this?

    Thanks
