I definitely like the new window setup... I miss understood for a while that they were going to a single window (yuck, fine for single monitor machines, but multi-monitor setups can do some really awesome things with separated windows). Now we only have one better setup set of menus, and the ability to scroll past the image boundary when zoomed in is nice.

Yeah - that is a feature I didn't know I was missing until I got it.... now I don't know how I tolerated it before!

Seems good so far except for image zoom (not the zoom tool), which has turned worse as it now focuses on the center of the image instead of keeping the focus on the center of the view. Mousescroll zoom still works fine but I preferred setting the zoom level manually

    Post I tried downloading but...

I tried downloading the 2.6 version but my computer said there were corrupted files. Is there something I did wrong? I don't have any previous versions. Forgive I am new and I am not really all that familiar with GIMP. Used to Photoshop.

Try downloading again. If you get the same problem then you might want to check your RAM for errors.
