    I usually take a real piece of paper and fold or wrinkle it however I want the map to look. I photograph it in high contrast light and place it on a layer above the map and set it to Overlay or Multiply depending on the effect desired. It creates an effect like these.

    Would you be able to post up those images of the overlay layers for others to use? I think that would be a great addition to the Resources Forum.
